Free Magic Effects – Top-Down AoE, Portal & Explosion VFX (HD)

Free HD magic effects. One effect from four packs of the Magic & Ability Effects Set: a fire warning that strikes, an arcane portal, a level up and a frost explosion.

Effects

• Fire strike: a warning circle draws itself and fills, then the strike lands on the same spot; the JSON names the hit frame, so damage lands on time
• Arcane portal: opens with a flash, turns in a seamless loop and closes; open, loop and close share one frame size and pivot
• Level up: light rises from the feet and a golden ring sweeps up and bursts; one layer behind the character and one in front, on the feet pivot
• Frost explosion: a frost flash, crystals bursting up, a ring of frost and a cold mist; plays once and fades out

Quick import

1. Godot 4: copy an effect folder into your project and assign its SpriteFrames to an AnimatedSprite2D.
2. Other engines: slice the PNG strips using the frame size and FPS from the JSON.

FAQ

Do they match the characters? Yes: the same HD finish, camera angle and light direction as every character pack in the series.

How big is the level up? It is built for a character about 230 px tall; the characters of this series stand about 155 px tall, so scale it by 0.67.

Anything added to this pack later is free if you already own it.
