Frost Spell Patterns – Top-Down Bullet Hell & Spell VFX (HD)

HD spell patterns for top-down games. Ice orbs in twelve ready-timed patterns: ring bursts, a double ring, a flower, a wide fan, a splitting shot, homing shards, hail, orbiting orbs, frost shockwaves, ice-spike eruptions, a frost field and a falling comet.

Colour variations and combinations

Every pattern also comes in Crimson, Gold and Violet: 36 colour variations in the ColourVariations folder, with the same frame size, frames, FPS, pivot and Godot 4 SpriteFrames as the original, so they swap in without re-aligning.

3 combinations: a frost flower with an orbit, a meteor that bursts into a nova where it lands, and an eruption into a lingering frost field. Each is a ready-made chain or layer of the effects in this pack: every clip of a combination shares one frame size and pivot, so they play one after another without re-aligning.

Patterns

• Frost nova 16: 16-shot ring burst
• Frost double ring: two 12-shot rings a beat apart, the second filling the gaps of the first
• Frost flower: rotating 5-petal flower: two sets of curling arms cross into petals (seamless loop)
• Frost fan 7: 7-shot wide spread with the centre shot leading, aimed in 8 directions
• Frost split: a big shot flies out, bursts and splits into an 8-shot ring, aimed in 8 directions
• Frost homing: 6 shots launch to the sides and curve in on one point ahead, then hit, aimed in 8 directions
• Frost rain: projectiles rain down on scattered spots in an area and burst (seamless loop)
• Frost orbit 5: 5 shots orbit the caster, far ones smaller and behind (seamless loop)
• Frost pulse: three concentric shockwave rings expand on the ground from a flash
• Frost eruption: bursts erupt one after another round a ring about the caster
• Frost field: strikes going off at scattered spots in an area (seamless loop)
• Frost meteor: a huge projectile falls at a slant and explodes on the ground

Each pattern is one ready-timed clip at 12 FPS. Loops (spirals, flowers, orbits, rains, fields) are seamless; the rest play once. Aimed patterns (fans, splits, homing, rings with a gap) come in all 8 directions, one row per direction; the others play the same in every direction. The pivot in each JSON is the caster or impact point, so you can place a pattern on a character or a target.

Quick import

1. Godot 4: copy a pattern folder into your project and assign its SpriteFrames to an AnimatedSprite2D.
2. Other engines: slice the PNG sheets using the frame size and FPS from the JSON; 8-row sheets have the rows S, SE, E, NE, N, NW, W, SW.

FAQ

Do they match the characters? Yes: the same HD finish, camera angle and light direction as every character pack in the series.

Can I use the shots on their own? The patterns are complete compositions; the single projectiles with their own release, flight and impact clips are in Projectile & Impact Effects.

Anything added to this pack later is free if you already own it.
