Frost Beasts – Top-Down 8-Direction Character Sprites (HD)

Four HD frost beasts for top-down games. Frost Wolf, Frost Bear, Frost Sabre-tooth and Frost Rhino: icy blue fur, frost on every lit edge and a cold mist rising off them. Every animation in all 8 directions, 238×226 px, 242×222 px, 244×220 px and 250×210 px frames (plus 128 px copies), and a frost death for every character.

Colour variations

16 colour variations: Frost Bear in Violet Frost, Toxic Frost, Blood Frost and Glacier Teal; Frost Rhino in Violet Frost, Toxic Frost, Blood Frost and Glacier Teal; Frost Sabre-tooth in Violet Frost, Toxic Frost, Blood Frost and Glacier Teal; Frost Wolf in Violet Frost, Toxic Frost, Blood Frost and Glacier Teal. Every animation in all 8 directions, the same sheets and Godot 4 SpriteFrames, plus recolour masks and a small Godot 4 shader for your own colours (optional ColourVariations folder).

Attacks and a frost death

Bite, claw, pounce and horn attacks, each in all 8 directions, aimed where the character faces. Every character also has a frost death: the body freezes over, cracks behind a bright frost edge and breaks apart into frost mist, ending on empty frames so you can remove the character without a pop. The regular death is in the pack too.

Quick import

1. Godot 4: copy the character folder into your project and assign its SpriteFrames to an AnimatedSprite2D.
2. Other engines: slice the PNG sheets using the cell size, row order (S, SE, E, NE, N, NW, W, SW) and FPS from the JSON.
3. Keep the supplied feet pivot so characters stand on the ground in every direction.

FAQ

Which size should I use? The native size (listed above) or the 128 px copies; pick one scale for your camera.

Do they match the other packs? Yes: the same camera angle, scale and light direction as every character in the series, so the frost versions can fight next to the originals.

Anything added to this pack later is free if you already own it.
